Javier was very glad to wake up Saturday morning and see the sun shining and no clouds in the sky. He hopped out of bed, ran down the stairs, started fixing some eggs, and called his buddy Evan with his cell.

"Hey Evan, get out of bed you lazy bum, we've got to get to the beach!"

"OK, OK, I'm getting up, I'll be right over!", Evan replied.

Javier added more eggs for to the frying pan for Evan and just as they were finished Evan walking in sniffing and said, "Hey, I'm hungry, is all that for me?"

"No, you pig! Only half of them!"

After finishing their breakfast Javier and Evan got into Evan's car and started driving to the beach.

Evan pulled out of driveway and drove slowly to the end of Javier's street where he stopped and waited to get onto the local highway.

Evan then drove the six blocks to the freeway slowly stopping at four red lights. Once Evan got onto the freeway he sped up to keep pace with the traffic in the left lane. After about 10 minutes at a steady pace Javier mentioned the traffic tciket Evan had received four weeks ago.

"I know everybody else in this lane is driving 70 but remember that ticket you got last month? I don't want to get stopped and have to sit on the side of the road again while this great day goes by! Can you get over into the right lane and slow down to 60?"

Evan grumbled but when he remembered how much the ticket cost and how mad his Mom was when she found out ... and when he thought of how perfect the beach was right now he pulled over into the right lane and slowed down.

Evan and Javier drove on the freeway for another 20 minutes and pulled of onto the road to the beach. Immediately they were stuck in a traffic jam.

"I hate this traffic.", Javier said, "It's only another four blocks to the beach but this is going to take forever!"

"Stop worrying Javier. We'll get there soon.", Evan said.

After just another five minutes of stop and go traffic Evan and Javier pulled into the beach parking lot, got out of the car, and smiled ...

It was going to be a wonderful day!
